ALGAIR - AIR PURIFIER

Algair is an air purifier that utilizes an algae biofilm to remove harmful pollutants from the air. The Algair filter system works by circulating air across biofilm panels to purify and clean the air in your home.

The algae biofilm filters are a living organism and require specific environmental factors to thrive and work effectively. A water reservoir at the top of the device, accompanied by the glass sleeves allows for a humid environment. while wicks feed water directly to the algae filter from the reservoir. The light embedded in the base of the device provides much needed UV rays to the algae during the darker months of the year and also can act as a night light for younger users.

The locking tabs on the screw on lid entraps the glass sleeve onto the device, allowing easy access to the water reservoir and biofilm filters for maintenance and replacement of the filters. This easy to use design makes the care for the device simple and encourages interaction between the user and device. This interaction creates a bond between user and device much like caring for a house plant. The bond with the device is an integral part of the design as it has never been more important to take a personal responsibility for the health and safety of yourself and your family. Allowing the user to take ownership of their home's air and create a sanctuary and escape from the worsening air quality around the world.
